OLBIA / COSTA SMERALDA / LUOGOSANTO /OLBIA
Upon our arrival in Olbia, we will meet with the guide, so we can depart toward Costa Smeralda. We will stop and have a walking tour to Porto Cervo, worldly international center, founded in the 60s by Ismaili Prince Karim AGA KHAN. Continuation of our tour will be to the hinterland of Gallura (North East of the island). This part of the region is well known for its beautiful landscapes, characterized by granite rocks, and the rich nature of fragrant plants such as myrtle, brooms, junipers, arbutus, mastic, heather, holm oaks and olive trees and the beautiful secular oaks. Leaving this place for a small town, LuogoSanto, known for its’ typical pretty granite houses. We will visit a vineyards and a tasting of their wines in site. We will have free lunch. In the afternoon, we go to Olbia, and relax in B & B. In the evening, we will go to a farmhouse to taste one of the ancient dishes of Gallura, among which the famous “Suppa cuata”. This dish is cooked with broth of mutton or sheep and bread, accompanied by the typical wine of the place, the Vermentino. We will return to the hotel and overnight.
THE PORT OF SAN PAOLO (COOKING CLASS) / ARZACHENA / OLBIA
Breakfast at hotel, and then departure to Port of San Paolo, to participate in a cooking class for Sardinian cuisine, with dough processing, both for the first courses and for sweets. Each participant will work the ingredients given by hand, under the guidance of Mrs. Gavina and at the end will taste what he/she has produced. In the afternoon, departure to Arzachen, to visit the nuragic village of “The Prisgiona” and the Tomb of the Giants ”Coddu Ecchja”, (historical period: Middle Bronze). We will return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
BERCHIDDA / OSCHIRI
Breakfast at hotel and departure to Berchidda, to visit the Wine Museum, the first multimedia structure dedicated to Wine in Italy. Continuing to Oschiri, we will visit a cheese factory, that produces the typical fresh and aged cheeses of the island, including the famous “Pecorino” cheese. At the end of the visit to the factory there will be the tasting of some of their products. We will have lunch at a farmhouse, in a beautiful lagoon area of the Lake Coghinas, with special cuisines of the place. Return in the evening to Olbia, in time for the return flight.
