OLBIA / S. TERESA GALLURA
Arrival in Olbia, and transfer to St. Teresa to visit one the famous touristic resorts in Sardinia, and Capo Testa, the granite promontory in the extreme north of the island, with its characteristic rocks eroded by the sea and by the wind, accommodation in hotel, dinner and overnight.
LA MADDALENA / CAPRERA / COSTA SMERALDA
Breakfast at hotel, then we leave to Palau to embark the ferry (bus and passengers) to the island of La Maddalena. Once there, we will visit this largest island of the archipelago, which is also famous for the marine park rich in flora and endemic fauna, recently established, and to the second largest island by size, Caprera, which is united by a bridge. Visit the House – Museum of Garibaldi (admission is not included), which collects the memories of this great hero. After visiting the Museum of Garibald, we go back to Palau, and have lunch in a restaurant. In the afternoon, we go to Costa Smeralda, founded in the early 60s, by Ismaili Prince Karim Aga Khan, and visit the main resort. Walking tour of Porto Cervo, the most famous resort frequented by international VIPs. Every year, the Porto Cervo Yachting Club, organizes several sailing trophies. In the evening return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.
CASTELSARDO / ALGHERO
Breakfast at hotel, and departure to Castelsardo along the beautiful scenic route. Arrival in Castelsardo, known as a royal city, founded in 1200, by the Genoese family of Doria, with the name of Casteldoria, and subsequently grown under various dominations of the Judges of Torres and Arborea, to be finally conquered by the Aragonese. We will visit the Elephant rock, an ancient hypogeal tomb and the medieval fortress overlooking the sea. Lunch in a restaurant. In the afternoon, free time in the many handicraft emporiums (baskets, rugs, pottery and corals) of Castlesardo and continuation of the tour to Alghero. By the late afternoon, we will arrive to Alghero hotel accommodation, dinner and overnight.
ALGHERO / ORISTANO
Breakfast at hotel, and visit of Alghero, situated on the west coast of the Sardinian island. This city has traditions and Catalan language. Visit to the old town, and to his characteristic ramparts and numerous churches. We will have lunch at the hotel. In the afternoon, departure to Bosa, recently appointed, as the second most beautiful village in Italy. We will visit this historic ancient city situated, along the river of Temo, the only navigable island. After Bosa we will continue toward Oristano. Arrival in Oristano, hotel accommodation, dinner and overnight.
BARUMINI / ORISTANO
Full board in hotel. In the morning excursion to Barumini to visit the most impressive nuragic of the island, discovered and brought to light in the ’50s by the renowned archaeologist Giovanni Lilliu today appointed by UNESCO, as World Heritage of Humanity. In the afternoon, excursion to the Sinis peninsula, to visit the ancient Phoenician-Punic-Roman city of Tharros and the paleo-Christian church of Saint John of Sinis. We will return to our hotel in the evening.
NUORO / ORGOSOLO /OLBIA
Breakfast at hotel and departure to Barbagia, the wildest region of the island, where the traditions are still deeply rooted. A stop in Paulilatino, to visit the beautiful sacred well of Santa Cristina, one of the most beautiful wells in the island, in antiquity dedicated to the worship of water. The journey will continue to Nuoro, where we will visit the Museum of Custom. This Museum shows tourists an overview of the uses and customs of the island. Then we go toward Orgosolo, and have outdoor lunch with the local shepherds, with typical Sardinian menu: cold meats, cheeses, roast meats, sweets, water, cannonau wine, and filu ferru (the local brandy). In the afternoon return to Olbia and end of tour.
