OLBIA / AGGIUS / CALANGIANUS / EMERALD COAST / CANNIGIONE
Upon arrival in Olbia, we will be meeting with the guide, who will accompany us for the entire 4 day tour. Then, departure to the hinterland of Gallura (North East of the island), with its beautiful landscapes, characterized by granite rocks and the beautiful olive and oak trees. Arrival in Aggius, there we will visit the MEOC, the ethnographic museum, an exceptional site of Gallura, which is rich of documentation on the life and environments of the civilization of Gallura, a typical traditional house. Our trip continues to Tempio and there we will take a walk to the center, all in granite. Arrival in Calangianus, an industrious center of the hinterland, which is famous for the cork extracted from the oak trees. We will give a visit to the cork and ceramics laboratories. We will have lunch and do a tasting of local products in a typical winery of the place. In the afternoon, we will visit of Costa Smeralda, with a stop and a walking tour of Porto Cervo, the most fashionable center known worldwide. In the evening arrival to our hotel, accommodation in the rooms and in the evening transfer to a local farmhouse to taste traditional cuisine, typical of Gallura, including the famous “Suppa cuata”, consisting of bread and broth of mutton or sheep, accompanied by the typical wine of the area, the “Vermentino”. After, we will return to the hotel and stay overnight.
BERCHIDDA / OSCHIRI / OZIERI / ALGHERO
Breakfast at hotel and departure to Berchidda, to visit the Wine Museum, the first multimedia museum, dedicated to wine in Italy. We will continue to Oschiri and visit a dairy factory that produces the typical fresh and aged cheeses of the island, including the famous “Pecorino”; and a nougat factory that produces almond nougat and nuts nougat, (typical Sardinian). We will Visit the Basilica of S. Antioco, in the district of Bisarcio di Ozieri, in Romanesque style. We will have lunch at a farm house in the area of Ozieri with specialties, based on panefite and ungeddas. Continuation to Alghero and we will stop for a short visit to the Basilica of S.S. Romanesque-Pisan Trinity of Saccargia, made of white and black polychrome stone, founded by Camaldolese monks, which in an ancient times had the adjoining convent for the Camaldolese monks. Evening arrival at the hotel, we will have accommodation in private rooms, and dinner based on seafood menu in hotel.
ALGHERO / BOSA / FONNI
After breakfast at hotel we will have a chance to visit one of the Cellars of the area, that produce various wines such as Vermentino di Alghero. We will Departure to the town of Bosa, very well known for the lace and for the production of the famous Malvasia, an excellent dessert wine. We will have the possibility of tasting in a typical tavern in the historic center (surcharge) of the town. We will have lunch in a restaurant specialized in seafood. In the evening we go toward Fonni, hotel accommodation in private rooms and dinner with folk show in the restaurant “Su Barraccu” with the menu based on cold meats, cheese and olives, fresh ricotta or seasoned ricotta, grilled vegetables, fresh pasta of the place with ravioli and curls of fonnese with wild boar sauce, and roast boar, potatoes, cheese and honey Sevada (the typical sweet barbaricino). Overnight at hotel.
FONNI / NUORO / ORGOSOLO / OLBIA
After breakfast at the hotel in Fonni we will try to visit (if possible) a laboratory for the production of the famous cookies of Fonni and then continuation of the trip to Nuoro, to visit the Ethnographic Museum, better known as the Museum of Custom, that shows tourists all the arts and traditions of the island. We will continue to Orgosolo, in the heart of the island and have outdoor dining with local shepherds with cold meats, cheeses and local bread, lamb stew with potatoes, roast meats, salted ricotta and typical sweets, with wine Cannonau, a local production and filu ferru, a local brandy .We will have a walk in the village to visit the murals and then we return to Olbia, in time for departure of the ferry to the place of destination. End of the tour.
